Freshman Academy
Our mission is to provide each incoming freshman with an individualized plan of support that encourages their academic, social, and behavioral growth while preparing them to be college and career-ready.
Our Freshman Academy is designed to provide incoming ninth-grade students a successful transition to the high school learning experience. Upon completing the Freshman Academy, East Central High School students will be equipped with an academic foundation and social intelligence to successfully earn their high school diploma and move on to greater achievements.
Our teachers in the Freshman Academy meet weekly to analyze student growth data and trends as well as student behavior and attendance, and then they use that information to formulate plans of action to help close any gaps. Student-specific needs are identified early and addressed so students have a feeling of success that will propel them into success in academics, social expectations, and behavioral expectations for the high school setting and beyond.
The Freshman Academy
Freshman students have their classes in a wing of the high school. The teachers are hand picked and highly involved in the creation of the learning environment specifically tailored to identify needs of all our students.
